Blood samples can be taken from either a vein or an artery most samples are taken from a vein in the arm.
In some cases, we are able to estimate the blood results by using the Glucometer which is a machine that measures the amount of Glucose in the blood. This requires a finger prick (capillary sample not from a vein or an artery) and does not require blood to be sent to the laboratory for testing.
